The house that receives no guests...

Post by tuck on 11/11/15, 02:06 am

To Lauriel, angel of the hosts of Pelor, Scourge of Shining Skies and Lord of Day,

By the care of Melcassah Alil of Theleandram, under the auspices of Lord Caltherro Ijel

From Commander Adriana Zorika, Captain of the 23rd Thantopolitan Legion and De Facto Lady of Zeiinuvăd,

    Greetings.

I have heard through your envoy that you wish to meet with me concerning certain matters best discussed in person, or in corporeal being as the case may be. As such, I would like to extend you welcome to our city. As an emissary of the gods, you and your retinue are free to travel in our land and we shall have an honor guard meet you at the border to escort you to the fortress of Zeiinuvăd for your safety in these wild lands.

Zeiinuvăd is eager to make acquaintance of its neighbors and establish mutually beneficial alliances and trade partnerships. We hope to receive your response soon and begin preparations for your visit.

    Sincerely,

    Lady Adrianna Zorika of Zeiinuvăd.

From the Dominion Lauriel, angel of the Fourth Host of the Radiant Lord

    Greetings

I gratefully accept your offer of hospitality. While I cannot speak for Caltherro Ijel, I agree that it behooves those present in this new land to forge common bonds and seek a path of return to the sight of the gods. I shall make my way with all haste to the appointed location at which to meet your honor guard.

In the Light of the Host

Dominion Lauriel of the Fourth Host

    -----

Radiant in the gloaming light, the angel Lauriel awaited it's guides atop a small hill with a good view of the Theleandran hamlet below. Calm, as ever, its unwavering eyes surveyed the approaching Thantopolitan contingent, curious and concerned by equal measure. Into what manner of trials had the Radiant Lord sent it? Only time would tell.

The small contingent of forces came up the hill, its flag of peace waving in the breeze beneath the sunlight. At the head of the company was what appeared to be a human man, in full banded armor. At a few dozen paces distance he called a halt to the troops and approached alone. He seemed wary, but resolute in his duty.

"Greetings" he said, removing his helm deferentially, "I am Lieutenant Mortinius Karus of the 23rd Thantopolitan Legion. My Lady Commander Zorika regrets that she could not come herself to meet you. Her... duties... prohibit her from extended travel."
