There were a couple of answer that came immediately to mind when the question was posed, but that was more personal than he was willing to delve at the moment, and he took a moment to consider them, nodding to her previous comment. "I know. I'm not special - everyone has problems. As for the rest... I guess I want... I want my family to be happy, and I want not to have to be alone. Enh, that shouldn't be so hard to reconcile, should it?"

"Family, huh? I know how that goes."

Kallista stood up and put her arm lightly across the half-elf's shoulder.

"And you're not alone Vedran. No matter what happens, you still have us."

He'd been expecting her half hug, at least, and was able to stave off the worst of his negative feelings, and just reached up to pat her hand. "Thanks. I know I'm lucky to have so many friends." It wasn't what he'd meant though. "I'm lucky I can get away like this, and having bigger things to worry about actually helps too."

    Kallista chuckled.

"That's sort of funny when you think about it. We adventurers lead strange lives, don't we? We deal with our problems by finding even bigger problems and sticking a sword in them."

"Yeah - I guess we all have do have issues." He flashed her a quick smile. "But if nothing else, adventuring is great for getting some perspective."

Kallista looked out over the railing, watching the landscape below them slide by at a measured pace. From this high up, everything beneath them seemed so small.

"Ain't that the truth" she said with a smile.
